ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, Apr 27: The clustered 'A' unit admission test for Bachelor (Honours) for the academic year 2023-2024 under the Faculty of Science in Islamic University (IU) has successfully been completed.
On Saturday, this test was held in an orderly environment from 12:00PM to 1:00PM at the IU Centre. The seats of 4,442 students were arranged in the six academic buildings of the university.
A total of 170,599 applications of admission seekers were read in this unit against 12,000 seats in clustered 24 universities.
IU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Sheikh Abdus Salam visited various examination halls. Pro-vice-chancellor Prof Dr. Md Mahbubur Rahman, treasurer Prof. Md. Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan, Registrar (Acting) H M Ali Hasan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology coordinating the 'A' unit, Prof Dr Md Manjurul Haque, among others, were present. Members of the Kushtia and Jhenaidah district police, as well as RAB and intelligence agencies, were deployed to ensure security during the test. There was a mobile court for monitoring crime suppression.
Apart from this, members of the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) and Rover-Scout Group were engaged in various ways to support examinees, including maintaining discipline. Digital banners containing the seat plan are placed in front of the main gate of the campus and academic buildings to facilitate candidates finding their seats easily.
Admission candidate Mehdi Mostakim said, "The questions are much more difficult than last year's. I don't know if I will get a chance, but I am hopeful."
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Sheikh Abdus Salam said, "The examination was held peacefully. The attendance of students is also satisfactory. Apart from this, fresh water is provided for the students, he said.
