Baldur's Gate 3, the Dungeons & Dragons RPG, dominated the 20th BAFTA Game Awards, winning five awards, including the top prize for Game of the Year.

The game also won Best Music, Narrative, Performer in a Supporting Role (Andrew Wincott) awards and the EE Players' Choice Award.

While there were wins for other big titles like Super Mario Bros. Wonder and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur's Gate 3 stole the show.

The game's creators, Larian Studios, were emotional in their acceptance speeches, thanking everyone who worked on the project.

The awards ceremony also highlighted the financial success of the gaming industry in the UK, with sales exceeding £5 billion last year.

Many game developers are facing job insecurity, with major companies like Unity and Electronic Arts recently laying off staff.

The ceremony's host, comedian Phil Wang, acknowledged this issue, while others, like presenter Jane Douglas, praised the game design as an art form.
