The beloved Japanese noodle dish Ramen has transcended cultural boundaries to become a global sensation. From miso ramen to shoyu ramen, its popularity knows no bounds. But what makes this humble noodle dish soar to such heights? Meet Christopher, the owner of one of Berlin's most unique ramen joints, who has mastered the craft of ramen from the comfort of his flat.

In high school, Christopher first tried ramen with simple instant noodles. Despite its plain appearance, his first ramen taste blew his mind, igniting a lifetime obsession with the cuisine. His interest in Japanese food brought him to Japan in 2006, where he tried real ramen for the first time. The flavours were robust and unexpected, creating a lasting effect on Christopher.

Over the next decade, Christopher immersed himself in Japanese food, trying new ramen dishes and recording his culinary journeys on social media. However, Christopher's ramen journey took an unexpected turn in 2020 when the COVID-19 epidemic struck.

Thanks to the pandemic, Christopher could not work his regular job, so he had plenty of free time. As requests for homemade ramen went up, Christopher devised a creative idea: deliver ramen via his window using a red bucket. Christopher's homemade delivery system, inspired by a well-known ramen cafe in Fukuoka, Japan, quickly gained popularity among German food enthusiasts.

Driven by the success of his handmade ramen, Christopher founded Food Technique Berlin. This company sells prepackaged ramen kits that ship globally, allowing fans to reproduce his signature ramen dishes at home. Christopher's Ramen stands out for its unique blend of German and Japanese flavours, which use traditional ingredients such as dried fish and aged noodles to elevate the dish.

Christopher loves preparing ramen, which can take up to five days from start to finish. Every step, from maturing the noodles to creating the rich broth and fresh toppings, is methodically planned to guarantee the ultimate bowl of ramen.

Despite the challenges of the epidemic, Christopher's red bucket delivery system for ramen has become the foundation of his ramen business, allowing him to communicate with customers and get valuable feedback. Even after the pandemic, Christopher intends to maintain the red bucket delivery system as a symbol of his love for ramen and commitment to his profession.

To Christopher, ramen is more than a dish; it is a lifelong pursuit of perfection. With endless types and strategies to discover, the journey with ramen is far from over. Christopher's enthusiasm for ramen remains strong as he continues pushing traditional ramen's boundaries.
