Skin health is also important regardless of gender. There is a norm that men don't use skin care products, but this is not entirely true. Facewash is one of the most sought-after items that boys look for. The city has been dusty and unlivable, especially in Dhaka, where every other road in our neighbourhood has been dug up for reconstruction, water lines, or infrastructural projects. The summer heat fuels this severe condition.

The intense heat can affect both men's and women's skin. From hair fall to dried and rough skin, extreme weather damages men's skin health. How should men look after their skin? What solutions should they look for? These are two essential queries one might ask.

Keep skin clean

Summer means more sweat, oil, and dirt accumulate on the skin. To keep your skin clean, wash your face twice a day. Use a gentle, non-drying face wash to soothe your skin. Such face washes rejuvenate the skin without clogging pores. Avoid washing your face with hot water, which can dry your skin. Instead, use lukewarm water to cleanse your face.

Sunscreen

During summer, harmful UV rays from the sun become potent. They can cause various skin problems upon contact. From sunburns to premature ageing, the skin faces several issues. To protect your skin during this time, use sunscreen. Apply sunscreen even on cloudy days. Choose a sunscreen with at least SPF 30. If you spend more time outdoors, reapply sunscreen every two hours.

Regular exfoliation

Exfoliating is an essential step in any skincare routine. It helps maintain skin health by removing dead cells. In summer, the skin produces more oil, accumulating dead cells on the surface. Exfoliating once or twice a week will eliminate dead skin cells and leave your skin bright and smooth.

Hydrate your skin

Hydration is crucial for healthy and radiant skin. Especially during summer when the sun's rays can dry out your skin. Use an oil-free moisturizer that won't clog your pores. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid that lock in moisture. Keeping your skin hydrated is essential for its overall health.

Use lip balm

Lips can become dry and cracked in the heat. Use a lip balm to protect them from dryness. Apply lip balm throughout the day as needed. Choose a lip balm that contains shea butter or coconut oil. These ingredients will keep your lips soft and hydrated.

Hair care

The sun's UV rays can damage hair during summer. Daily washing and conditioning are essential to keeping hair healthy. Remember to use conditioner after shampooing. Apply oil to your hair to protect it from sun damage.

Incorporate these simple tips into your daily routine for healthy, hydrated skin. Protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays and enjoy glowing, healthy skin all summer.
