Dhaka, a vibrant city entire of life, is often stereotyped as a city which doesn't offer many places other than restaurants for an outing. Dhaka sizzles with busy streets and excellent restaurants, but hold on! There's way more to this city than meets the eye. To many travel freaks who just want to explore the city, the Dhaka Metro Rail was a blessing last year. Do we know there are some exciting places to explore in Dhaka that are not too far away from the Metro stations?

The Uttara station:

Nestled between Uttara North and Uttara Center stations lies an excellent place for nature lovers - Diabari. Its picturesque lake offers a unique escape within the bustling city. Kayaking enthusiasts can rejoice, as Diabari provides some of the best kayaking opportunities in Dhaka. It's the perfect spot for a fun outing with friends and family, where you can create memories amidst the scenic beauty.

The Mirpur station:

Mirpur is widely known as a great place for food lovers, which, of course, is not our concern in this feature. The iconic Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium fondly referred to as the 'Home of Cricket', sits majestically a fifteen-minute walk away from the Mirpur 10 station, a site for cricket freaks. For those visiting from afar to witness a thrilling match, the 'walking-distance' closeness to the metro station ensures they don't miss a single action-packed moment.

But Mirpur boasts more than just cricketing glory. The Dhaka National Zoo, a short distance away, offers a welcome respite from the urban buzz. For nature enthusiasts, Mirpur offers another treasure: the National Botanical Garden. This 210-acre sanctuary beside the zoo is a haven for plant life. Thousands of plant species, including native trees, herbs, shrubs, and aquatic plants, flourish within its borders.

Agargaon station:

The Bangladesh Air Force Museum offers unique views just beside the Agargaon Metro Station. It is a treasure for aviation and history enthusiasts. The museum's open-air exhibits include a fascinating collection of aircraft, including some flown during Bangladesh's Liberation War in 1971.

Bijoy Shoroni station:

This museum houses a captivating collection of weapons, uniforms, and military artefacts, showcasing the evolution of Bangladesh's armed forces. Each section of the museum, especially the Navy one, has been attracting visitors with its charming display using 2D and 3D augmented reality technologies, VR experience, and picturesque presentation.

Unleash your inner art freak at the 3D Art Gallery beside the Military Museum.

The Novo Theater, just a 2-minute walk from the Military Museum, has been offering a vibrant space experience for eras, and with new and improved technologies introduced, it offers even more now.
