All secondary schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical educational institutions in five districts -Dhaka, Chuadanga, Jessore, Khulna, and Rajshahi - will remain closed on Monday due to the intense heatwave sweeping over the country.
Information and Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education MA Khair disclosed the information in a statement on Sunday.
However, educational institutions with air-conditioning systems may remain open if the authorities want.
The next decision in this regard will be announced tomorrow (Monday), the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education decided to keep primary schools open on Monday.
Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, said no new decision has been taken regarding primary schools' closure as all primary classes are held in the morning.
